Ebony soapsuds ran down the Camry’s silver hood as Kay Lawrence listened to Mark Williams explain how Black Lagoon’s cleaning agent restored a new-car finish to vehicles in just a few minutes. It was her car being pulled through the car wash’s tunnel track.

                        watches-m

Mark’s car-wash business was booming, and his chemist partner David Reed had just patented Black Lagoon’s proprietary cleaning fluid, Black Widow. David had discovered a mild acid-alkali combination that blended into an ideal solution for spraying onto tires, windows, and vehicle bodies. The solution packed the punch of tougher, more corrosive cleaners such as sodium hydroxide, phosphoric acid, or hydrofluoric acid. But best of all, it neutralized very quickly under recycling, allowing almost total recovery of wastewater. Yes, Black Lagoon Auto Car Kare (BLACK) was going to be awash in cash soon, and Mark needed Kay’s financial advice and aid. by Dev StriSchek

Kay had known Mark and David for several years, first as depositors at Eucritta Coast Bank’s Gulf Bay branch, where she had served as the resident commercial lender, and later as borrowers at the downtown office, where she was now the bank’s market president. Carl Maya, a former marine biologist who had joined the bank’s maritime financing unit, was BLACK’s current relationship manager. Carl had become a close friend to Mark and David through a shared interest in scuba diving. They had spent several weekends out in the Gulf on Carl’s sailboat Rita, diving on the reefs for Spanish galleon shipwrecks and searching in submerged caves.

Eucritta’s founder, Melano Limnetes, had inherited his family’s fortune squeezed from sponge diving in the Gulf, and he thought Carl would upgrade the intellectual resources of the maritime financing unit. Limnetes preferred the bank to operate informally, and he felt that every lender should handle all aspects of the relationship, from car loans to commercial lines of credit, from personally taking deposits to preparing loan documentation. He believed his renaissance bankers gave him a competitive edge because they could do anything the customer needed and because he didn’t have to pay for as much back-room and middle-office support.

                pandora charms

Eucritta’s credit department manager, Jack Arnold, had performed due diligence on the industry for Carl and Kay. Everyone was surprised by its size. The car-wash business annually generates $8 billion and employs more than 175,000 people at some 50,000 establishments. Wages and salaries consume about 33% of every dollar of revenue, and the industry generates a relatively low $50,000 per employee annually. The high labor component and the relative ease of entry lure many sweat-equity entrepreneurs into the business who have human muscle and energy as well as access to low-cost water and cheap leases. Consequently, the industry has fragmented into many local operators and scores of small franchises.

Jack’s industry summary was that its overall level of capital intensity is high, technological change medium, and industry volatility medium. He found that demand is often influenced positively by low rainfall and local restrictions on home water use. Household disposable income is another key factor, but low-income households are also frequent customers as they use automatic car washes to lower their home water bill. The total number of cars on the road is yet another factor, and the outlook for the Best Man Long Sleeve T Shirts Online number of cars in use is expected to continue rising. To take advantage of these positive trends, the successful car wash has to:

face= Italic; Over time, turbine compressors and other driven compressors suffer from corrosion, oxidation, and, in many cases, severe fouling, which in turn can cause in-service breakdown and premature overhaul. Today’s innovative protective coatings can be applied on-site to rotors and individual components to replicate the surface finish, corrosion resistance, and antifouling properties of new components.face=-Italic;

By Mark F. Mosser and Paul Brooks, Sermatech International Inc.

Turbine compressors historically have been coated as an afterthought. Initially, silicone aluminum paint and diffused nickel cadmium were the only coatings available for application to both rotating components and vanes/cases. But pandora glass beads today, the addition of a sealer can enhance the protection of centrifugal compressors in gas-processing applications in ways that a coating alone cannot. To take advantage of coating process improvements, and because some installed equipment isn’t coated by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), on-site coating is typically the only way to go.

face= Bold; Coating conundrumsface=-Bold;

The goal of any coating on a turbine compressor is to maintain the surfaces of all airfoils at a low surface roughness and eliminate corrosion and fouling. But choosing a coating is a complex decision, because turbines operate in environments that often combine high humidity, high salinity, severely acidic or alkaline pollution (in chemical plants), and sand erosion. On the other hand, many turbines operate in low-humidity conditions without any extreme environmental influences.

Because of these many variables, the OEM may apply protective coatings suitable for ‘average’ or ‘typical’ conditions. Best IWC Watches Online Such coatings may perform well in some environments and fail prematurely in others, but the OEM cannot economically provide for coating protection in every different application. In fact, driven centrifugal compressors (any that aren’t integral to a gas turbine) are often not coated at all and are therefore more subject to corrosion and fouling.

In addition, the time between overhauls of all gas turbine compressors has increased, which means that compressors must function efficiently for significantly longer periods of time. That makes the quality of compressor coatings even more important.

Coating failure can quickly lead to blade failure due to stress corrosion, pitting, and catastrophic failure (Figure 1). Fatigue failures invariably originate with corrosion pits forming a stress riser from which a crack propagates–ultimately resulting in blade failure (Figure 2).

Though fatigue failure is a serious issue, there are other consequences of coating failure. Any increase in surface roughness results in a decrease in compressor efficiency and increased fuel consumption, which raises operating costs. In addition, aerodynamic losses in the compressor may increase exhaust gas temperatures and increase wear and hot corrosion, further increasing costs and decreasing time between overhauls.

face= Bold; Fouling is a dragface=-Bold;

All compressors need a surface coating that can eliminate or mitigate fouling because the aerodynamic drag in a compressor increases with the roughness of the airfoil surfaces. Fouling consists of any deposit on a surface that contacts a moving fluid (such as air, in the case of a gas turbine), disturbs the laminar flow of that fluid, and consequently decre
Other articles:
http://14367340.blog.hexun.com/53443193_d.html
http://blog.cnfol.com/xsdfghkl/article/23566138.html

Judge puts Coyotes case on hold

PHOENIX — A two-day court auction of the beleaguered Phoenix Coyotes ended Friday without a resolution.

                         Washington-Wizards

Judge Redfield T. Baum will hand down his ruling at a later date. There is no immediate word on when that might be.

Both the NHL and BlackBerry billionaire Jim Balsillie tweaked their offers for the team as the clock wound down on the hearing.

Balsillie had offered to buy the Coyotes for some US$242.5 million, contingent on moving it to Hamilton, over the objection of the NHL.

The NHL had bid $140 million with plans to resell the franchise outside of bankruptcy.

But both sides sweetened some aspects of their deals during the final hours of the hearing.

The Balsillie camp amended its offer to guarantee that the city of Glendale, the Phoenix suburb where the Coyotes play, would receive $50 million free of any conditions. In his earlier bid, that amount could have been as low as $40 million. Balsillie also removed his Sept. 21 deadline for completion of the sale.

The NHL, meanwhile, kept its bid at $140 million but agreed that Coyotes owner Jerry Moyes and Wayne Gretzky, the team’s managing partner and head coach, should come away with some $14 million between them. Moyes would get the lion’s share of that.

Under the NHL’s initial bid, Moyes wouldn’t receive anything.

                  Replica U-Boat Watches Asia

Commissioner Gary Bettman took the stand Friday. Balsillie had also been expected to testify but the league waived its right to cross-examine him.

Also Friday, Judge Redfield T. Baum floated the possibility again that he might reject both bids.

Baum said that a potential purchaser must satisfy several legal benchmarks.

“If you don’t both get there, it’s going to be hard to approve it,” he said.

NHL lawyer Tony Clark told the judge that, if both bids are tossed, the NHL would seek a ruling allowing it to take control of the team in preparation for a resale.

In other words, the league would not mind a “no sale” determination.

Balsillie lawyer Jeff Kessler, on the other hand, likened such a ruling to “letting the patient die.”

Meanwhile, Bettman said during cross-examination that the NHL didn’t decide to make a bid for the Coyotes until about 24 hours before submitting the offer.

Bettman, a lawyer by trade, projected confidence and calm during his 50 minutes on the stand.

Balsillie Replica Tissot Watches lawyers Thomas Salerno and Kessler each sought to show that Bettman broke oath during a deposition Aug. 20.

Speaking five days before the league submitted its bid for the team, the commissioner did not disclose any plans to buy the club. Kessler argued that keeping it secret “tainted” the NHL’s decision to reject Balsillie as an owner on July 29 because it was planning to bid against him.

Bettman contended the decision was only made at the last minute.

While the NHL waived its opportunity to cross-examine Balsillie, it still had some critical comments about the persistent Canadian, who failed in previous attempts to buy the
Other articles:
http://xsdfghkl.blog.sohu.com/156822192.html
http://dzzx8.com/Blog/View/?953

Florida home or business owners losing property value because of the oil spill, including those in Palm Beach County, can make claims against BP to recover part of their tax bill under an executive order Gov. Charlie Crist signed Wednesday.

The executive order allows property appraisers in the 26 counties already declared under a state of emergency to offer property owners a midyear reassessment of their property. If a property owner lost value since the spill, the owner could make a claim against BP to pay the difference in the tax bill.

Palm Beach County was links of london charms added to the list eligible for financial aid in June because of concerns that the Gulf Stream could carry oil from the Deepwater Horizon spill to the county’s shores, but none has arrived yet.

Crist’s order authorizes, but does not require, appraisers to offer the midyear reassessments.

While the order provides for potential tax relief, it also signals Crist’s intention to steal the spotlight from state lawmakers who are planning a special session in the fall to address problems stemming from the oil spill.

Republican House and Senate leaders decided to hold a special session in the fall as a way to justify their decision Tuesday to leave Tallahassee without voting on an oil drilling ban Crist wanted on the November ballot.

In an interview Wednesday before he announced his executive order, Crist was asked whether he would participate in the special session state lawmakers were planning.

He said there would be an announcement later that afternoon “that might be related to it.”

“There are all kinds of ways to get there,” Crist said about providing relief to Gulf Coast residents.

Crist, a U.S. Senate candidate with no party affiliation, blasted the state House and Senate as a “do-nothing legislature” Tuesday for failing to vote on a ballot question that would have asked voters to constitutionally ban oil drilling in state waters. Replica Montblanc Watches

But legislative leaders dismissed the amendment as a political stunt and said they would focus on “serious” relief for Gulf Coast residents during a special session after the Aug. 24 primary elections.

House Speaker Larry Cretul, R-Ocala, said Wednesday that “everybody else is injecting” politics into the oil spill except for House lawmakers. “And if they’re going to inject, I’ll push back,” he said.

BP officials declined a request for comment. As of Tuesday, the company had paid out more than $41 million in claims to Floridians, who have filed nearly 32,000 claims, 2,000 more than Louisiana residents.

Property appraisers in Escambia and Santa Rosa, the westernmost counties in the Panhandle, appealed to Crist and legislative leaders on June 2 for tax relief for residents affected by the spill.

“The House and Senate never acknowledged our letter,” Santa Rosa Property Appraiser Greg Brown said. “We’re thankful the governor has taken a step to help.”

Brown, who said his office would have to work overtime to reassess properties, criticized lawmakers for failing to include tax issues in the special session Tuesday.

He pointed out that none of the six House lawmakers Cretul appointed to head “working groups” that would assess problems from the spill we
Other articles:
http://home.q.yesky.com/space-9166828-do-blog-id-590792.html
http://www.zhengzhouinfo.com/Blog/View/?2278

DAVID BECKHAM has bodyswerved the credit crunch by increasing his earnings by pounds 1.4million in the last year.

For the fifth time, the England midfielder has been named as the top-earning footballer in the world in a survey by France Football magazine.

A combination of his salaries with LA Galaxy and AC Milan and commercial income from sponsors and his football academies saw the 33-yearold’s dosh rise to pounds 32.4m.

Barcelona’s Argentine playmaker Lionel Messi was second with pounds 28.6m, with Ronaldinho of Milan on pounds 19.6m.

Beckham’s basic salary with LA Galaxy was pounds 4.9m with pounds 1.5m of bonuses. And he earns pounds 26m off the field, mainly through sponsors such as Adidas, Giorgio Armani and Gillette. Though he has lost the Pepsi contract, he could pick up more advertisers in Italy now D&G Belts Handbags he has extended his stay in Serie A. He has a pounds 28m, three-year deal with Milan-based Armani.

Messi earns a higher salary of pounds 8.5m with the Spanish league leaders while Ronaldinho took a pounds 2m pay-cut – and turned down a move to Manchester City – to transfer from Barcelona to Milan.

Cristiano Ronaldo is in fourth place with a pounds 7.3m basic salary and pounds 1m in bonuses. But his pounds 10m-a-year off- field earnings are set to increase over the next few years under his new ‘CR7′ brand name.

                      Magnet Necklace designers

Manchester City’s Robinho, British football’s most expensive player, is ranked in only 12th place. The Brazilian earns pounds 9.5m a year – but has sponsorship deals worth ‘only’ pounds 1.9m.

Yet Italian players’ union leader Sergio Campana warned that players lower down the pay-scale will not be immune to the global economic crisis. “The potential World Players of the Year are not at risk,” he said, “they will continue to earn a good living.

“But I am worried for the others. In the next two years, salaries could fall by 20 per cent.” Chelsea bosses past and present dominate the manager’s league tables, with Blues owner Roman Abramovich picking up most of the tab.

Thanks to getting pounds 7.5m for 30 months left on his contract, Luiz Felipe Scolari earned pounds 12.5m.

Jose Mourinho, who topped the table with pounds 24m last year after his Stamford Bridge payoff, had to make do with pounds 11m this year.

The Portuguese coach earns pounds 9m a year at Inter Milan and a further pounds 2m in sponsorship.

Juande Ramos is a surprise inclusion in the top 10.

The replica clothing Spaniard was awarded pounds 5.7m when he was sacked by Tottenham in October – and is on pounds 1m to coach Real Madrid until the end of the season.

HIGHLAND – After about 30 years Banner Elementary School, an independent, private Christian school, abruptly closed June 30.

A statement on the school’s Web site that was also mailed to parents says debt and financial difficulties forced the closure and it has filed for bankruptcy.

The letter tells parents to Replica watches immediately cease online payments or stop payment on any checks sent to the school. This came as a shock to some parents, because a letter was sent out two days before the closure that aimed to dispel rumors of fiscal insolvency.

“It seems like that lady sent that letter out in hopes that people would pay before they filed for bankruptcy,” said Amber White, whose daughter attended the school and its summer day care program.

The first letter – dated June 28 – sent to Banner parents was written by Carol Herwig, who identified herself as a former principal who would return as principal in the new school year.

“It has been rumored that Banner is so financially shaky that it is closing. That is untrue,” the letter reads. “Banner will continue to be open … “

Calls to a phone number Herwig listed in the letter as her home number weren’t picked up Thursday.

                         Replica watches

The June 30 statement declaring Banner’s closure tells a different tale. A new board of directors was elected in June that would use its experience to keep the school running, it says. A financial plan was agreed upon. But as the true financial situation became clear “it was evident that Banner had not been solvent for some time.”

The new board wasn’t given sound information on the schools money troubles, the statement read.

“Many thousands of dollars were owed and more financial obligations would be coming in July with no hope of sufficient income to meet these financial obligations,” the statement says.

After consulting with attorneys, the board voted to immediately file for protection under “federal bankruptcy statutes,” the statement said.

When White picked her daughter up from day care at 4:30 p.m. June 30, staff members told her “see you tomorrow” and gave no indication Banner would be closed the next day, she said.

Gayle Linn, Banner’s principal for the past five years until Herwig took over in June, declined to provide information related to the closure.

Jefferson Greer, whose 5-year-old daughter was set to begin kindergarten at Banner in September, said he fears he’ll lose out on $685 he prepaid for her Replica watches first month’s tuition, registration, book and testing fees.

“Bankruptcy is not a short process,” said Greer. “It just burns me that I handed them this money June 16 and then June 30 they announce they’ve filed for bankruptcy.”

Since the school has entered bankruptcy protection, he doesn’t expect a refund.

“Bankruptcy law is a long, drawn-out process,” he said. “If I do see the money it may be years down the line and pennies on the dollar.”

Greer said he spoke with other parents who say they prepaid fees up to $3,000.

Willie Guida, principal of Westside Christian School in Redlands, said a Banner parent told him about the closure around 6 p.m. June 30. On July 1 he parked outside Banner to let paren
Other articles:
http://www.wangqing.cc/Blog/View/?3475
http://www.redfine.net/Blog/View/?951

SCORES of small investors have paid out hundreds of thousands of pounds for Scottish housing plots that do not have planning permission and will probably never be developed, The Herald can reveal.

The buyers, mostly pensioners, have paid mark-ups of up to 1500% for parcels of Highland farm or forestry land that officials say is unlikely ever to get planning permission.

Investors contacted by The Herald said they had been promised they would double their money in just a few months by buying plots on a former farm in the Loch Lomond national park and a forest in the shadow of the Nevis range.

However, the leader of Highland Council, Michael Foxley, last night said buyers were “gullible dreamers” and urged them to watches seek legal advice and contact his authority’s trading standards officers.

The investors bought their plots through a company called Swift Land Investments, a business based in Inverness that specialises in selling property without planning permission.

A spokesman for the company denied misleading any buyers and insisted that their purchases were good long-term investments.

The business, he insisted, was not the kind of landbanking scam that has swept through England and Wales in recent years, when usually elderly investors are sold green-belt plots without planning permission at inflated prices.

Swift is currently marketing two blocks of land. The first is three fields at a farm near Gartocharn in the Loch Lomond National Park. It calls the scheme Little America.

The Herald last week revealed that 64 plots were being offered at prices of up to pound(s)30,000 each – despite warnings from the National Park that the land was very sensitive and highly unlikely to be get planning permission.

The Herald has since obtained records showing that the site is owned by a company called Friendship Investments, which is registered in Gibraltar, a notorious offshore tax haven. Friendship paid just pound(s)28,385 for the fields just before Christmas. It has since sold at least 18 plots for a total of pound(s)243,000.

Swift Land has been selling more than 40 plots deep in a wood at a former croft called Achnabobane, near Spean Bridge in Lochaber. It is describing the area for sale as Achnasol, a name unrecognisable to locals.

“We consider this site as ideal for second-home owners due to its stunning beauty, business opportunities and sporting activities and potential for investment growth,” said Swift Land in its sales blurb.

The Herald can reveal that the former croft is subject to a so- called Section 75 agreement that prohibits further development other than four new houses granted outline planning permission six years ago.

Mr Foxley, in an unusual move, yesterday said it was highly unlikely that any planning permission would be granted at the Lochaber site.

Achnabobane is the family home of Alistair McGregor, a colourful businessman who was questioned six years ago by police and DVLA officials investigating the mass theft of V5 motor vehicle registration forms. However, it is believed that this did not lead to any prosecution involving Mr McGregor.

Most of the croft was transferred to another firm based in Gibraltar, called Deauville Limited, in 2004, for pound(s)20,000. Another parcel of land was subsequently sold to a company called Highland Land Investments and rebranded as Achnasol. At least 31 small housing plots without
Other articles:
http://m0746.cn/Blog/View/?3190
http://blogtestboling.blog.com/2010/07/07/replay-solutions-awarded-u-s/
